Nine years after the first CAR T-cell therapy was launched, we’re still experiencing barriers that affect the commercialization of cell and gene therapies (CGT) in the US.

This was the topic of conversation at the inaugural 2025 Cell Therapy Commercialization Symposium, held in conjunction with the Association for Value-Based Cancer Care Educational Summit & Program in November. During the symposium, stakeholders from across the CGT ecosystem convened to discuss the realities of advancing CGT access into broader real-world care settings.

Over the next several months, symposium sponsors McKesson and ADVI will be publishing insights from these conversations, detailing the progress that is underway and the substantial work that remains to ensure that the promise of CGTs becomes a reality for all patients.
