Cancer strategy is national. Cancer performance is local.
The AVBCC Regional Value-Based Cancer Care Collaboratives™ unite the organizations shaping cancer care in each market—from providers and health plans to employers, life sciences, public health, and patient advocates.
Together, they identify local barriers to access, cost, and outcomes—and make specific commitments to remove them.
Eight regions. One shared framework. A national readout. A federal channel.
More than a conference
Cancer care is shaped by local realities: referral patterns, staffing shortages, coverage rules, fragmented workflows, and unequal access to testing and treatment.
Each Collaborative brings regional leaders together to:
- Identify where care breaks down
- Prioritize solvable barriers
- Assign clear owners and actions
- Continue the work through standing workgroups
- Elevate regional findings nationally
- The convening starts the work. It does not end it.
Every Collaborative follows a five-part model:
Diagnose the market → Convene regional leaders → Charter workgroups → Share national findings → Inform federal dialogue
This structure turns local experience into coordinated, accountable action.
Proven in Southern California
The inaugural Collaborative brought together 300 leaders, 93 organizations, 4 active workgroups. Participants continue to advance regional priorities across the patient journey, access, economics, and innovation.
